We have chosen to follow recommended protocols to minimize the community spread of COVID-19 for the well being of our guests, volunteer staff and community. In accordance with Phase 5 of Restore Illinois and local public health rescinding of mandates, masks will be optional and we will no longer require proof of vaccination proof.

We do recommend all tickets be purchased in advance.


Individual Admission (In-Person)

The guided tour of the EH Birthplace Museum usually lasts at least 45/50 minutes. Please note tours begin at the top of each hour, last tour starts at 4 p.m.

Printed translations are available if needed for most foreign languages.

Individual Admission (Virtual)

A live narrated, virtual guided tour of the EH Birthplace Museum usually lasts at least 45/50 minutes. Tours are via google meet platform. Reservations must be made at least 6 hrs in advance. Tours are available by appointment only, email info@ehfop.org to schedule this tour.

In Ernie’s Footsteps: A Walking Tour of Young Hemingway’s Oak Park

A 90-minute outdoor tour explores young Hemingway’s connections to Oak Park. Sites to be visited include the Birthplace Museum, Boyhood home, Oak Park & River Forest High School, Oak Park Public Library, Congregational Church and WW I War Memorial in Scoville Park. Your guide is Dr. Nancy Sindelar, author of Influencing Hemingway: The People and Places That Shaped His Life and Work. Includes guided walking tour and 1 copy of book, Influencing Hemingway (15 person max)

Additional Person: $20 (no book)
